Special links

Some web sites, among others Facebook, Twitter, do not allow embedding their pages on the other sites. However, they provide handy widgets that can still provide you with the information you might need. Below we list guidelines and examples of how to insert those widgets into your tabs. Please mind, that normal URLs will be transformed into these widgets automatically, so there is no much you will need to do anyway.

Facebook

Demo of all Facebook widgets can be seen on Name.ly/Facebook.

Activity Feed:

facebook:activityfeed:domain-name

E.g., to show the activity on some specific URL, e.g., http://joking.of-cour.se/ use a special link “facebook:activityfeed:joking.of-cour.se”.

Mind to removed “http://”, just leave the domain name.

Comments:

facebook:comments

When used on Name.ly/Frames theme, this will add a comments tab allowing for public discussion of the site.

Like Box:

facebook:likebox:page-nick-name

E.g., to show Facebook page http://facebook.com/Name.ly.Fans/ use special link “facebook:activityfeed:Name.ly.Fans”.

Please mind, if the nick name of your Facebook fan page is not set yet, you may wish to do so on here (you will need at least 25 fans in order to be able to set your Facebook nick name).

Even if your page’s nick is not set yet, and the fan page address looks like http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mark-Kychma/117834018268570 you can still embed it on Name.ly using the following special format:

facebook:likebox:pages/Mark-Kychma/117834018268570

Recommendations:

facebook:recommendations:domain-name

E.g., to show the recommendations for some specific URL, e.g., http://joking.of-cour.se/ use a special link “facebook:recommendations:joking.of-cour.se”.

Twitter
